IKENO CLOTHING
I feel very fortunate and lucky to have grown up in Shella, it has shaped me into who I am today, and continually growing, learning and getting inspired from this magical island. Thankful to my incredible mama who moved to Shella when I was 4 and my sister was 2, and raised us here. We have friends that have become family, and will always be- and for that I am eternally grateful and blessed.

I have started a menswear brand called IKENO, which is only a year old- a selection of fabrics hand loomed and block printed in India, our garments are designed and made with a small team on the Island of Lamu. Every aspect of Ikeno is easily inspired by the neutral tones, textures and architecture of Lamu, creating a menswear collection that is suited to the equatorial heat and classic simplicity of the island.

In Lamu, unlike many other places everyone is family. I have a very large family here on the Island and that is what is so special about this place that I am fortunate enough to call home.
There are lots of exciting new and old projects happening in Lamu at the moment to discover. There seems to be a great dynamic energy in Lamu and a movement of creative and talented people creating amazing projects and ideas for the future, which is very exciting.
